At Lauphine, each custom piece is created thoughtfully and in close collaboration with you.

Beginning Your Project

Every custom project begins with a consultation to discuss your vision, preferred materials, budget, and desired timeline. Following the consultation, Lauphine will provide an initial project proposal and estimated pricing.

A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required before design work, sourcing, or production begins. Payment of the deposit confirms your agreement with the project scope and this Custom Project Policy.

Design and Approval

Your project includes up to two rounds of reasonable design revisions.

Before production begins, you will receive a final design, rendering, sketch, or written specification for approval. Please review all details carefully, including dimensions, materials, stone specifications, engraving, and ring size. Once you provide final approval, changes may not be possible and may result in additional costs or an extended timeline.

Because each piece is finished by hand, slight variations from sketches or digital renderings are natural and part of the character of custom jewelry.

Gemstones and Materials

When stones are sourced specifically for your project, availability and pricing may change until your deposit is received. Any material substitutions will be discussed with you before proceeding.

Lauphine may accept client-provided gemstones or heirloom jewelry on a case-by-case basis.

Pricing and Payment

Custom project estimates are based on the agreed-upon design, materials, stone selection, labor, and current precious metal pricing. Changes to the design or materials may affect the final price.

The remaining balance is due before the completed piece is shipped or collected. Custom pieces will not be released until payment has been received in full.

Timing

Most custom projects take approximately 8 to 12 weeks from final design approval and receipt of all required materials. This timeframe is an estimate rather than a guaranteed completion date.

Complex designs, specialized stone sourcing, engraving, material availability, or requested revisions may extend the timeline. If your piece is intended for a particular occasion, please share the date at the beginning of the process so we can determine whether the requested timing is possible.

Cancellations

The initial deposit is nonrefundable because it covers design work, sourcing, materials, and production commitments made specifically for your project.

If a project is canceled after production has begun, the client is responsible for all work completed and materials purchased up to the date of cancellation. Depending on the stage of production, the full project balance may remain due.

Returns and Exchanges

All custom and personalized pieces are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. This includes pieces created to custom specifications, altered from an existing Lauphine design, engraved, resized outside our standard range, or made using specially sourced materials.

If your piece arrives damaged or does not match the approved design specifications, please contact us at info@lauphine.com within five days of delivery so we can review the concern.

Sizing and Adjustments

The client is responsible for confirming the correct ring size and other requested measurements before production begins. If an adjustment is possible after completion, additional labor, material, and shipping charges may apply.

Certain designs, including eternity bands, engraved pieces, and rings featuring stones around the full band, may not be resizable.

Shipping and Delivery

Insured shipping will be arranged once the project balance has been paid in full.

The client is responsible for providing an accurate and secure delivery address. Lauphine is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, or other circumstances outside our control.

Care and Repairs

Fine jewelry should be worn and cared for thoughtfully. Normal wear, accidental damage, stone loss, improper care, and work performed by another jeweler are not considered manufacturing defects.

If your piece requires future maintenance or repair, we would be happy to inspect it and provide recommendations and an estimate.

By submitting your deposit, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and accepted this Custom Project Policy.
