The other morning, I glanced down at my wrist and realized one of my vintage gold bracelets was missing. I retraced my steps from the last twenty four hours, searched every room I had been in, and tried to remember the last time I noticed it resting there. Losing a piece of jewelry creates an unmistakable pit in your stomach.
This bracelet was one of the first pieces in my collection. I loved its weight and the way it shifted on my wrist, reminding me of its luxury. It was not simply something I wore. It was something I lived in.
Losing a piece of jewelry is something I would not wish on anyone, yet it happens. When it does, you realize how deeply a piece becomes an extension of yourself. Jewelry endures experiences alongside you. It soothes. It comforts. It carries memory.
That bracelet, wherever it may be, carries my stories. And one day, I hope it will carry someone else’s.
At Lauphine, we are fortunate to have access to unique vintage pieces with pasts and futures of their own. I will be on the lookout for the next piece that feels just as special.
Recently, we recreated two charm bracelets for a client who had lost hers years ago. From a blurry photograph of the original bracelets on her wrist, we searched for similar bracelets and created new charms for each of her children and grandchildren, with birthdays hand engraved onto every piece. Creating sentimental pieces that become apart of your story is what we love doing.
At Lauphine, we source and craft one of a kind jewelry meant to become part of your life. Pieces that comfort you, hold your stories, and offer a quiet sense of luxury every time you wear them. Our collection is highly curated and thoughtfully crafted so each piece can grow with you, just as it was meant to.
